ABOUT THE GREEK PAINTER™

 

For more than a decade, The Greek Painter™, has created vibrant, expressive artwork celebrating the beauty of women, the bonds we share, and the stories worth preserving.

The Greek Painter began in Atlanta in June 2016, born from the creator, Alexis Watson’s love of art, fashion, storytelling, and sisterhood. What began as a collection of expressive paintings has grown into a distinctive body of work celebrating women through friendship, family, culture, education, achievement, confidence, and the everyday moments that connect us.

Through bold color, expressive lines, movement, and style, Alexis creates women who feel familiar. They are sisters, mothers, daughters, friends, leaders, dreamers, and women becoming everything they were meant to be. Each piece tells its own story while reflecting something larger - the beauty of our relationships, our experiences, and the legacies we create together.

Many of the beloved works from The Greek Painter’s earliest years now make up the Legacy Collection - the art that started it all. Created during the beginnings of The Greek Painter, these pieces remain an important part of the brand’s story and the foundation for the collections that followed.

A Georgia native, Alexis is a graduate of Georgia State University and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. She lives and creates in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 2026, The Greek Painter celebrates ten years of creating art with meaning. A decade later, the heart behind every piece remains the same: to create art in which women can recognize a piece of themselves, the women they love, and the stories they hope to leave behind.
